Role of the Medic
I seriously doubt anybody here is an idiot, but I have no choice but to state the role of the medic - Cure all ailments and heal the team. Anyone who doesn't know this beforehand should just quit the game Mad

Getting to Know the Skills
Critical Strike - Not the most important skill, but useful to have from the start of the game to save ammunition.

Heal - Extremely useful in the later waves, but not in the earlier part as you'll be moving most of the time.
*Tip: When you're using Heal, you won't be able to move or use skills. Press 'S' to stop healing.

Anabolic Steroids Every medic's best friend. Great for gaining XP. It also increases movement speed, so use it on the slower players ( heavy supports, lower ranks). After all, the speed of the team is that of the slowest player.

First Aid Skills
The skill that really defines you from the rest of the classes. Every medic must max this skill by level 5 (earliest possible).

Note: Using any of the skills from first aid - mend, cauterize and antivenom, can stop the effects of blood transfusion and medkit. I suggest healing ailments first before healing their hp, or at least wait for the effects of kit and bt to be almost over before healing their ailments (except in the case of fracture).

Skill Build
Firstly, I won't claim that I came out with this build but it's the one I usually use. You can change it to suit your preferences and circumstances.

Level 1: Anabolic Steroids and First Aid
Level 2: Critical Strike
Level 3: First Aid
Level 4: Anabolic Steroids
Level 5: First Aid
Level 6: Anabolic Steroids
Level 7: Anabolic Steroids
Level 8: Heal
Level 9: Heal
Level 10: Heal
Level 11: Heal
Level 12: Heal
Level 13: Anabolic Steroids
Level 14: Critical Strike
Level 15: Critical Strike

Discussion
Firstly, get used to the shortcuts.
z+v: Antivenom (av)
z+b: Blood Transfusion (bt)
z+c: Cauterize (caut)
z+e: Mend
Many will have a hard time at the start and fumble when panicked but you get better as you play more often.

Secondly, ALWAYS keep a medkit with you from the start of the game. It comes in handy when your blood transfusion is in cooldown state. Recon is prone to stalker attacks and cannot wait for your bt cd to be over.

When you start playing medic, you may want to ask your teammates to announce when they require a caut or mend. However, once you get comfortable, you should take the initiative to look out for any ailments. I usually select the teammates who just entered my screen or got attacked to check for any needs. Push yourself to react to ailments as fast as possible.

A good medic should keep the usage of items to the minimum while ensuring the team's safety. If a teammate is hurt, e.g orange hp, and your bt is on cooldown, use a kit if you decide that he'll be in danger, otherwise wait for your cd to be over. However, during a gargs wave (waves 3,6,8,13), heal asap.

If multiple teammates get hit, always prioritize. The first to use antivenom on is heavy support followed by firebat. They are the main firepower, hence having miss av can really hurt the team.

From wave 10 onwards, keep 2 packs of medkit, 1 pack of antivenoms and fibrin bandage on you. av and fibs are standard safety standard procedures. It can get messy from this wave on, depending on the overall skill your team, so 1 medkit may not be enough.

When your team gets besieged, e.g slashers, DO NOT heal after it's over. React immediately and heal the injured ones as fast as possible.

When firebat is tanking mrits on wave 15, I usually use both kit/bt and heal together and heal ailments when mrit is dead ( for the time being). Consumes mana like a running tap, but keeps firebat alive like nobody's business.

Concluding Note
Rome wasn't built in one day, like every other class, you need to use it often to improve. Don't expect yourself to become a pro medic just by reading this guide. Never be satisfied with your level of skill, I'll never call myself a pro medic as no matter how good you are, there will always be room for improvement.

If you have anything to add or disagree about, don't hesitate to post here. After all, it's discussion (:
